ie6 and ie7 have this problem. ie8 and firefox 3.5 is fine

The problem is not clear. Is it when there are a lots of incoming messages, or when you use two consumers, or something else.
Can you provide a simple test case that demonstrate the problem.

just run graniteds_tide_seam example. when login you open two main app in the same session in ie6.

or you can combine graniteds_tide_seam and graniteds_chat examples. when you connect and begin chat in ie6 tide call is very slow.
